About Us

Who We Are

Studio 213 is a family run business based in Runcorn and is run by cousins Ellie and Tom. We took an interest in videography from a young age, creating short videos together at our grandparents’ house. Many years into the future, we now have lots of experience in the field, working on television, online videos and more.

We are called Studio ‘213’ as this was the house number of where our grandparents lived. Growing up, they were our biggest inspiration and always supported us with our film making ambitions. So we thought it was fitting to create our business in memory of them, our ‘Nannar’ and ‘Gang’.

Our objective is to provide friendly, but professional outcomes. We like to work closely with our clients, to help understand and develop their concepts. Studio 213 loves to help out local communities and businesses wherever we can, please get in touch if you think we can help!

Tape Transfers

Years ago, we came across our families video tapes, forgotten about at the bottom of a wardrobe. Decades of forgotten memories, some of which we had never seen before!

Here we were, in the same position as our customers are now! So many options… who do you trust with your irreplaceable memories? The overpriced high street shops who send your tapes to a third party company? Your colleagues second cousin who does them on his dusty VHS to DVD all in one converter he got back in 2005?

We never found anything we were satisfied with. So we went down the rabbit hole… These were our tapes and we wanted to capture and preserve them in the very best possible quality!

And so began our journey into the world of analogue tape digitisation. We learned everything there is to know about video equipment and capture techniques and bought a range of machines to transfer them. The results were so much better than anything we had seen before! We already run a small videography business, so now we have all this equipment to transfer video tape, why not offer it along side?

Over the years we have invested in a huge array of equipment and learned how to maintain and fix them when they inevitably break down or develop faults. We are constantly purchasing new decks and expanding the range of formats which we can operate.

We understand each customer is in the exact same situation as we were all those years ago, and so we promise to treat your tapes as we would our own, and always strive for the best possible results!
